On October 23, a delegation from Northeastern State University (USA), led by its President Dr. Rodney Hanley, visited our university. Party Committee Secretary Zhang Jianhua met with the guests and held talks, with Vice Presidents Zhang Zhong and Li Shibao in attendance. Zhang Jianhua extended warm welcome to NSU delegation and briefed them on the institution’s historical development, academic programs, and talent cultivation efforts. He also reviewed the productive outcomes of earlier collaborations between the two universities. Zhang highlighted NSU’s reputation as a well-known comprehensive public university in the United States, particularly recognized for its distinctive strengths in cultivating professionals in fields such as medical laboratory technology and optometry. He expressed confidence in the promising prospects for cooperation in medical and health sciences, noting that the visit serves as a timely opportunity to leverage both sides’ advantages. Zhang called for in-depth discussions, consensus-building, and expanded exploration of new collaborative fields and models. He further emphasized the importance of implementing cooperative projects in a systematic manner to jointly advance the quality development of higher education at both institutions. President Rodney Hanley of Northeastern State University expressed his appreciation for the warm reception. After outlining NSU's educational profile and development priorities, Hanley noted the productive exchanges that have already taken place between the two universities. The solid foundation built through previous interactions creates exceptional potential for collaboration in specialized fields such as medical laboratory technology, nursing, and optometry, Hanley stated. He also conveyed strong expectation for establishing substantive cooperation that would yield mutual benefits. During the symposium, both sides engaged in in-depth discussions and exchanged views on advancing cooperation in medical laboratory technology and other academic fields. Additionally, the delegation visited the university history museum. The event was attended by representatives from the Office of International Cooperation and Exchange (College of International Education) and the School of Medical Laboratory Technology.
